Treadmill Comfort . The 3 C's

We’re taking a new approach to associate selling features with the introduction of the 3C’s. Because the 3C’s represent what a consumer needs to know and would like to know about a particular product when shopping. As you flip through this book, you’ll notice all key points are grouped by Comfort, Control and Convenience. You can also introduce the selling feature of Horizon products through the way of 3C’s.

Your customer’s comfort with his or her treadmill is dependent on two major components:
the belt and the cushioning system.

VCS

The Variable Cushioning System is a hybrid shock-absorption system that works in a way similar to the sole design of high-performance sports footwear.

In sports shoes, the softest part is the heel. A harder material is used for the middle part while the hardest part is the tip. This is due to the heel being the first part to hit the ground when a human being is running and so it needs the most shock absorption. The middle part touches the ground next as the body continues moving. Finally, the tip is used to launch the body forward and so requires the hardest supporting surface.

To achieve the same effect, the VCS design places shock absorption units of different levels of hardness underneath the deck.

By combining the VCS cushioning system with a high-density polymer deck, Horizon's ergonomically designed running machine offers customers the most comfortable jogging experience.

As VCS places shock-absorption unit of different levels of hardness at different parts of the deck, staying in a certain area on the running machine while jogging delivers the most comfort. We call this area the "Comfort Zone".

Stickers are used to indicate the location of the Comfort Zone to our customers so they know where their feet should go for the most comfortable running experience.

Comfort Zone 50 for example indicates that 50cm in front and behind this point gives the optimal VCS performance and is the most comfortable zone to run in. The size of the Comfort Zone varies depending on the model as well.

Tip:
Most other competitor models use shock absorption unit of the same hardness under their deck. Some competitors leave their shock absorption unit exposed and emphasize how soft they are. In reality, the ergonomics of running indicate that neither identical hardness nor very soft shock absorption pads are the answer. The best solution is to have the right mix of hardness and softness at different positions.

Air-CellThere are high amounts of pressure where your feet land on the belt while running on the treadmill; AirCell provides the right amount of cushioning, and support, and is easy on your joints.

VCS

FLEXtech is a type of shock-absorption unit which made by high density of elastomer. Same
concept as VCS, we put FLEXtech on the proper position to achieve the right amount of cushioning.

OrthoTo improve the durability of their running belts, competitors use harder and more brittle materials that offer less comfort. Horizon running machines however have always used our own proprietary high-quality running belts. These are built from interwoven layers of materials, with soft rubber at the top and high-strength polymers at the bottom for the optimum mix of comfort and durability.

The OrthoBelt takes this a step further by using advanced orthopedic rubber materials that are softer and slightly sticky. Apart from the better traction this offers, shock absorption is improved as well.

ErgoSiderail enhances your safety and fit ergonomics. The side rails are leaned inward to help prevent
the possibility of slipping off of the treadmill during your workout or while you are standing on it.
